The Taming Archive: Dedicated to Ultima Online Taming Profession

Age of Shadows (February 10, 2003)

Official Publish Information

In addition to major general gameplay changes, a few rather significant ones were made regarding to the taming profession for the Age of Shadows expansion.

Only bonded pets will obey the drop command. Silly addition, but whatever. I can think of more important things to change or fix than this.

All pets and monsters have less hit points than strength, at a difference of 40%. Double damage vs non-players has been removed.

The transfer command only does a skill check against the new owner, not both the current and new owners. This allows pets that can no longer be controlled to be transfered to other players.

New resist and damage types are available on pets. This addition is retroactive to existing pets.

Fire breath is completely fixed. Creatures are doing significantly more fire breath damage than they previously did, aproximately 20% of their hit points.

Displayed/adjusted skill has been completely done away with. There is now only base skill. This goes for pets as well, since animal lore showed displayed/adjusted skill instead of base. Skills effected will include magery and wrestling, which will appear lower than before.

Gate travel and recall is now possible between Trammel and Felucca. Gates leading to Felucca will be hued red. Recall is possible from, but not to Ilshenar (similar to how Wind is).
