The ki-rin is the asian equivalent of a unicorn. According to Japanese legend, they are a sign of good fortune and have an unfailing sense of justice. In UO, they are very short mutant mini asian dragons. They can only be tamed and mounted by male characters. While mounted, ki-rins have a special ability to protect you (which does 35-100 damage to the target and cannot be resisted), which they use when you drop down to 30 health. There is roughly a one hour delay in its usage. You cannot tame this creature while polymorphed. Ki-rins tamed prior to publish 14 (Nov/Dec 2001) will eat meat. All new ki-rins will eat fruits, vegetables, and hay.
