Fire steeds were unicorns that had been captured and tortured by daemons and had their horns removed. Interestingly, they are the only pet that has 2 pack instinct classifications. They are also the only pet that exceeds 100 in any skill. Its armor rating will fluctuate from 42-60. Their armor rating will nearly always change when it goes to a different subserver, but can fluctuate at any time, subserver change or not.
Please note that while fire steeds can start above 100 in resist, none of their skills can be trained past 100, including resist. So if you tame a steed that was "born" with 104 resit, and it ends up with 94 resist after the taming skill loss, it will never go past 100 resist.
** Note: the Deceit brazier spawn is not limited to fire steeds. Dragons, drakes, daemons, ratmen, and all manner of things will also spawn. The brazier is only mentioned because it is the only other way to find a wild fire steed. The delay is roughly 15 minutes between creature spawns.
