Choose the creature you desire to control and place the displayed skill values for your taming and animal lore skills in the appropriate fields. Calculate away. If the control values are 0, the pet will not transfer to you at all, but you can transfer away pets you cannot control if the new owner has enough skill.
That depends. Control percentages below 70 are poor at best. It is recommended that avoid doing things with your pet where frequent commands are necessary, unless you have 80% control or better.
The first control value is based on a linear equation where the output values are in a straight line between 20 and 70, as described by Oaks. The second control value is based on an equation that the PRC uses, that supposedly came from Oaks in a private message. Another Dev Team member supposedly said that both formulas are correct in another private message. No member of the Dev Team has never publicly verified either formula as correct, so take from this what you will.
There are many reasons why I switched from Flash to PHP. Easier to maintain. More secure. More flexible, incase I want to add or remove things later on. Accessible to browsers without the Flash plug-in. Easier to link to. This version automatically displays the last time it was edited.
The script is doing a check against the taming requirement of the creature, not its name. Many tameables have the same minimum requirement. The script says to display all tameables with that requirement, but your browser is forced to pick one, which is usually the last one in the "selected" group. Some newer browsers may highlight all creatures that fall into the "selected" group in a different color.
